GREAT EXPECTATIONS

I MUST WORK FAST,FASTER THAN SCHEHERAZADE
These are the line that begin the whimsical narrative of Saleem Sinai that is so close to my heart right now ,the story of saleem sinai in itself makes you realize so many of the earthly as well as extraordinary things around you in life. But for right now i aspire to be that chick who saves herself from being screwed by making up stuff and procrastination.Scheherazade/Shahazadi/whatever you may remember her as was one heck of a persevering lady though a bit of an Arabic version of our own supernatural Betal who pissed king Vikram right ,left and center time and time again. So i must work, work for ? well that's a question i haven't thought about so no use. But i must work.(And i love the fact that it felt great copying stuff and putting it in Block quotes)
Time is fleeting and expectations are great and this cocktail is dangerous particularly for people who are into soul searching and bigger issues in life like playing FIFA, hurling abuses while watching football late at night etc etc.The expectations are much more if they are self inflicted because then you deal with yourself and have those movie type monologues, fighting with your alter ego and all.People always say strive for the best, aim for the top. But somehow you get lost in the dreams of reaching that pinnacle. That perhaps kills the dream , all hope and whatever is left that is. But you still fight because you expect some great shit to happen to you which is probably due to the fact that you have been watching movies likes Die hard when you needed to concentrate on mugging up stuff studies. Then you curse Bruce Willis (and secretly wait for the fifth part of the movie). But inside you know everything is inconsequential, all efforts you put in now will be a sort of placebo. And slowly the remorse will subside and then you want mundane things, small little things that make you happy because those great dreams are not for you, not now , not while you hug on to things that you hold so dear and not until you wriggle out of the lethargic monotony.
Those of you who thought to find something related to the Charles Dickens' novel - i am pretty sorry coz i hardly remember studying it during my school days and what i remember about the movie is Gwyneth Paltrow and her prurient ways...thinking about gwyneth paltrow makes me think about coldplay and then i plug in the music ,do hell with expectations.
